Recipe calorie and nutrition calculator

Estimate recipe calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat per serving from ingredient quantities and nutrition data you enter.

Searching for an AI recipe calorie and nutrition calculator? This one uses a standard published formula, not an AI model, so you can see exactly how your number is made. See how BiteCal AI tracks meals against it.

No ingredient guesses: this version calculates from nutrition values you provide. Volume and piece measures need an ingredient-specific gram weight; they are never silently treated as grams.
Parsing identifies quantities and units; it does not match foods to a database.

Ingredient 1

0.0 g will be included in the total.

Recipe estimate

Add ingredient quantities and nutrition values to calculate a result.

Values describe entered ingredient weights before cooking. Water loss or absorption changes calories per 100 g of the finished dish; this calculator does not apply unsupported cooking-yield estimates. Use matching raw/cooked entries and account for edible portions from your source.

Your result explained

The total is the sum of the provided nutrition per 100 g multiplied by each ingredient’s converted gram weight. The tool divides the total by your servings. It does not guess ingredient matches or apply unverified cooking yields.

How it’s calculated

For each ingredient, nutrient total = (ingredient grams ÷ 100) × nutrient value per 100 g. Recipe total = sum across ingredients; per-serving result = recipe total ÷ serving count. Grams and ounces convert directly. Volume and piece measures require a manually supplied gram weight for that specific ingredient.

Worked example: If 150 g of an ingredient is entered with 200 kcal per 100 g, it contributes 300 kcal to the recipe. If the entire recipe totals 900 kcal and makes three equal servings, the estimate is 300 kcal per serving.

Limits and accuracy

Nutrition depends on the selected food entry, raw or cooked state, edible portion, brand and preparation. This calculator requires you to provide values and gram conversions where needed; it does not include a verified food-search database or infer water loss/absorption during cooking. Unequal serving sizes will make the per-serving average less representative.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate calories in a recipe?

Enter each ingredient’s weight and nutrition per 100 g, then choose the number of servings. The calculator sums the nutrients and divides by servings.

Can I enter cups or tablespoons?

Yes, but you must enter the ingredient-specific grams per cup or spoon. Volume-to-weight conversion depends on the ingredient, so the tool does not use one generic density.

Why does cooked rice have different calories per 100 g than dry rice?

Cooking changes water weight. Use nutrition values and weights that describe the same state, or your estimate will mix incompatible entries.

Does this tool search USDA foods automatically?

No. It parses common quantity and unit patterns, but does not automatically select a food record. Use a package label or a trusted database entry and check that its preparation state matches.

Can I share my calculator inputs?

Yes. The calculator keeps supported inputs in the page URL, so you can copy the address bar and reopen the same setup.
